When the first patented, gas-powered automobile hit the streets, almost 150 years ago, it was the beginning of a new age in transportation. However, that great and successful invention marked the end of horses being a viable mode of transportation. In the next few decades, if you had lived during that time, you would see the slow decline of horse drawn carriages replaced with fast moving automobiles. But it did spell the end of horses!
